In your dashboard, go to Site Setup and enter your website URL. Tailbot will generate a unique site ID for you.
Choose your install method:
Download the plugin
Go to Dashboard → Site Setup and click Download Plugin. You'll get a tailbot-tracker.zip file.
Upload to WordPress
In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Select the zip file and click Install Now.
Activate
Click Activate Plugin. That's it — Tailbot will start tracking bots immediately.
The plugin automatically bypasses page caches for bot requests so every crawl is captured.
Use the built-in bot simulator to confirm tracking is active.
Open the simulator
Go to Dashboard → Site Setup and scroll to the Bot Simulator section.
Run a test
Pick a bot (e.g. GPTBot) and hit Simulate. If everything is set up correctly, you'll see the visit appear in your Live Logs within seconds.
Tailbot is now tracking every bot that visits your site. Head to your dashboard to see real-time data.
